Vyloppilli Sreedhara Menon’s kavitha( vishukkkani) this poem about his childhood vishu festival. He started writing under the pen name ‘Sree’.

Vyloppilli was born on 11th May 1911 in Ernakulam district, he got Kendra Sahithya Academy award in 1964 and 1971. his very first collection ‘Kannikkoythu’ He was associated with Samastha Kerala Sahithya Parishath. he loved children very much and missed his childhood.

It looked as if the shadow has confined the blazing sun. It is a festive mood with clever drumbeat in my hilly town! The croaking frogs welcoming the rain and the smell of mango ting! Birds are singing the tune of the season
